Tagline:
Finally, there’s me! I Celebrate Myself is about a narcissistic guy’s journey to find himself. Guy is a twenty-something, aspiring model and actor. High on his ambition and on himself, Guy considers most forms of work beneath his dignity and refuses to become gainfully employed. He lives with his girlfriend, Rose. While Rose is hard at work to support herself and Guy, he works out to tone his body. Rose is unhappy with Guy because he is living off her and puts pressure on him to get a job. One day, Guy suddenly becomes inspired and decides to cook a nice, romantic, candlelight dinner—for himself. Guy prepares an elaborate meal, complete with wine, music, and candles. Guy, however, forgets that Rose gets off work early that day. Guy is about to sit down to enjoy his dinner when Rose walks in. At first, Rose thinks that Guy has prepared a romantic dinner for the two of them, in anticipation of her coming home early. But Rose quickly realizes that Guy has prepared a romantic dinner for himself, since there is only one wine glass, one plate, and one set of utensils. Rose’s bottled up frustration with Guy explodes when she discovers that Guy did not go to a job interview that her father set up for him. Angry, Rose realizes that she can no longer be in this relationship. |
