STEVE CHU BIOGRAPHY
 
     
STEVE CHU (Writer/Director/Producer) is a filmmaker based in New York City. He co-founded Omnifex Productions, a boutique outfit whose mission is to produce fresh, engaging, and thought-provoking films.

Steve is a versatile writer and a multi-talented filmmaker. He has a broad artistic range, from music videos to television to films. His versatile artistic and creative sensibilities enable him to be successful from genre filmmaking in comedies, thrillers, dramas, and actions, to unconventional, edgy independent filmmaking.

Steve is in preproduction of his feature film, "The American Club," which he wrote and plans to direct. He has written and directed short films and documentaries, including "I Celebrate Myself" and "The Proposition." He is also co-scripting and associate producing a documentary on Chinese history based on a prominent series of history books; the project is currently in development at the History Channel.

As a writer of fiction and poetry, he has always taken a keen interest in storytelling via film. He investigates and employs innovative narrative techniques to push the boundaries of storytelling. Steve is an artist of diverse interests and an ardent traveler, having traveled to more than 30 countries. And his work reflects his diverse interests in literature, history, philosophy, science, politics, sociology, and travels.

Steve is a founding member of a filmmaker group, The Unconscious Collective, which is a collaborative group dedicated to make cutting-edge films and to offer professional support to members.

Steve studied film at New York University. He graduated from Columbia University in New York City with a degree in English literature. He subsequently received the Master of Arts in Communication from Iowa State University.
